1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners about how their sites are used.
2. How We Use Cookies and Our Purpose
We use cookies solely for the purpose of understanding how visitors interact with the BankersBase website. Specifically, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated statistical data about site usage. This helps us improve the content and user experience of our website over time.
We collect this data for statistical purposes only. We do not use cookies for:
• advertising or remarketing;
• tracking individual users for commercial profiling;
• collecting personally identifiable information; or
• any purpose other than understanding aggregate website usage.
Why We Do Not Display a Cookie Consent Prompt
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), website operators are required to obtain user consent before placing cookies on a user’s device — unless those cookies fall within a recognised exemption.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) recognises that analytics cookies used strictly for statistical purposes may be exempt from the consent requirement, provided they meet specific conditions. Our use of Google Analytics satisfies these conditions because:
• cookies are used solely to generate anonymised, aggregate statistical data;
• the data is not used to track individual users across other websites;
• the data is not shared with or used by third parties for advertising or profiling; and
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) does not store full IP addresses (see Section 5 below).
For further information on the PECR analytics exemption, please refer to the ICO’s guidance: ico.org.uk — Cookies and similar technologies
We continue to review our cookie usage and will implement a consent mechanism if our use of cookies changes in a way that no longer falls within the exemption.

4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how users interact with the site. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the website is transmitted to and processed by Google.
Google uses this information for the purpose of evaluating website activity, compiling reports on website activity for us, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.
You can learn more about how Google uses data collected through its partners’ sites at: policies.google.com/privacy
5. IP Addresses and Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — the version of Google Analytics in use on this website — does not log or store full IP addresses. This is a built-in, non-configurable feature of GA4 and represents a core part of its privacy-by-design architecture.
When a user visits this website, the GA4 tracking code briefly uses an IP address to derive a coarse geographic location (such as city, region, and country). Once this geolocation lookup is complete, the IP address is immediately discarded and is never written to disk or stored in any Google Analytics report or database. At no point is the full IP address retained by Google or accessible to us as the website operator.
This process applies to all users. For users based in the European Union, Google additionally processes data via EU-based domains before forwarding to Analytics servers, providing an additional layer of data protection.
This is confirmed in Google’s official documentation: Google Analytics — EU-focused data and privacy
6. Your Choices
You have the right to decide whether to accept or decline cookies. You can:
Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Please note that if you disable cookies entirely, some parts of this or other websites may not function correctly. Browser-specific guidance can usually be found in your browser’s help section.
Google Analytics Opt-Out
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
